Somalia, Not Minnesota
I don’t believe the current mess in Minnesota is actually about immigration. I don’t have the full picture myself, but don’t want to wait anymore before talking. Trump has run a year-long bombing campaign against Somalia; Israel has become the first nation to recognize the dissident region Somaliland… and then a kid youTuber uncovers a massive Somali scam, and immediately afterwards, ICE and globalist protesters go hot against each other in the most Somali city in North America. Hmm.

Somalia: Counterterrorism Operations
Beginning in February 2025, the Trump administration expanded its counterterrorism efforts in Somalia. These operations targeted al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda affiliate active since 2006 that controls large swaths of the country’s south-central regions, and ISIS-Somalia, a smaller affiliate of the self-proclaimed Islamic State operating in the country’s northeast. The administration launched 126 operations in Somalia in 2025, killing nearly two hundred militants, according to New America, a Washington-based think tank.
The operations continue a decades-long U.S. counterterrorism campaign that began under President George W. Bush as part of the war on terrorism. Yet the Trump administration has notably scaled up operations compared to previous administrations. In 2025 alone, it conducted more operations than the Bush, Obama, and Biden administrations combined. The objective, as stated by Trump and other senior administration officials, is to eliminate the ability of terrorist organizations in the region to threaten or attack the United States and its allies.
The full extent to which the Trump administration’s expanded campaign has diminished terrorist capabilities in Somalia remains unknown. Both al-Shabaab and ISIS-Somalia remain intact and active, with al-Shabaab in particular gaining ground against Somali forces and pushing ever closer to the capital, Mogadishu. The United States has already conducted two known operations against both groups in 2026.
Then in December, the Trump Administration proceeded to cut off their money supply.
What to know about Nick Shirley, the YouTuber alleging day care fraud in Minnesota

The Trump administration is freezing child care funding to the state of Minnesota in response to a viral video that purports to expose extensive fraud by federally funded day care centers.
I saw an announcement dated 6 January, but enforcing appears to still be a work in progress. Trump began revoking Somali protected immigration status in November 2025.
Nick Shirley, a 23-year-old self-described “independent YouTube journalist,” posted the 42-minute video on X and YouTube the day after Christmas.
I was playing with family and my new toys the day after Christmas.
In it, he and an older man — identified only as “David” — visit various seemingly empty day care centers, bombarding Somali employees with questions and accusing them of not providing services to any children despite receiving public funds. The pair claim to have exposed over $110 million in fraud.
Allegations of social services fraud in Minnesota have been the subject of federal investigations and mainstream media coverage for years.
In one high-profile example, more than 90 individuals have been charged since 2022 in the ongoing case of a Minnesota nonprofit that prosecutors say misappropriated some $250 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds intended to feed children in need, calling it “the largest Covid-19 fraud scheme in the country.”
And a federal prosecutor said earlier this month [GQ: December] that half or more of the roughly $18 billion in federal funds that supported 14 Minnesota-run programs since 2018 may have been stolen.
Nobody heard when the Feds announced it, but everybody heard when “an independent influencer” did a couple weeks later.
Vice President Vance reposted Shirley’s video the day after it went live, writing, “This dude has done far more useful journalism than any of the winners of the 2024 [Pulitzer] prizes.”
FBI Director Kash Patel also responded, writing on X [on 28 December] that “even before the public conversation escalated online, the FBI had surged personnel and investigative resources to Minnesota to dismantle large-scale fraud schemes exploiting federal programs.”
HAH! Patel said the quiet part out loud! “The FBI is already deployed to take full advantage of this kid’s-out-of-nowhere exposé!” Bad corrupt cop! No donut!
Shirley, suddenly in the national spotlight, has expressed concerns about his safety and is asking supporters to donate to his security, including by selling $50 sweatshirts on his website. And he’s continued to criticize Minnesota’s Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and the mainstream media for their perceived inaction on the issue.
Which is it? “I’m scared for my safety” or “Whatcha gonna do, Governor?”
Shirley has been making shock-value YouTube videos for years, starting with pranks before wading into political exposés.
The Utah native vlogged consistently throughout high school, amassing some 7,000 followers before graduating in 2020, according to a profile that year from local NBC affiliate KSL-TV.
“Some people might not know who Nick Shirley is yet, but one day, they will,” it reads.
One of his earliest stunts was flying to New York City at age 16 without telling his parents. They escalated from there: sneaking into influencer Jake Paul’s wedding, tricking TikTokkers into auditioning for a fake Justin Bieber music video, riding a bike over a ramp lit on fire. He also filmed himself in the crowd outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
And DIDN’T get the J6 treatment?!
Then came a hiatus: Shirley announced in December 2021 that he would be taking a two-year break from YouTube to serve on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santiago, Chile.
That does help explain his freedom, yes, but a full year later? There are some clues that the Mormon Church, which had a change of top management last year, has signed onto Team Zionist. For example, the “Turning Point” incident was conducted in the heart of Mormonism. The Zionists would not have held such a sensitive event where they couldn’t trust the loyalties of local law enforcement.
Zionists have been very active in the Patagonia region of Chile/Argentina in recent years. A lot of Israeli tourists recently discharged from the IDF going on mapping expeditions deep in southern South America, according to informal news sources, which suggests these headlines didn’t just happen:

Argentina’s opposition accuses Israeli tourists of sparking Patagonia wildfires

Several figures from Argentina’s opposition, including the country’s former army chief Cesar Milani, have shared claims circulating on social media accusing Israeli tourists of deliberately starting a series of fires sweeping across Patagonia in southern Argentina, near the border with Chile.
In a post shared on X on Sunday, Milani accused “a foreign state” of intentionally igniting the fires, which began last Monday and have burned more than 3,500 hectares of land.
While he did not name Israel directly, the post included an image of far-right President Javier Milei waving an Israeli flag in front of a large crowd of supporters.
Luis D’Elia, a former government official who resigned in 2006 at the request of former president Nestor Kirchner over alleged ties to Iran, also shared a video of a local resident claiming he tried to stop several Israeli nationals whom he said he witnessed setting fires in the vast forested area.
Israeli Settlers Caught Lighting Fires As Argentina’s Patagonia Burns

On December 9, 2025, Argentina’s President Javier Milei announced a policy allowing foreigners to buy land and develop it following wildfire damage. At the time, the move sparked little attention outside political circles.
I told you he was a necromancer. There’s no explanation for “the rich cannot buy this valuable land… unless the wildlife on it dies first” except a worship of death.
Exactly one month later, Patagonia erupted in flames. Prosecutors have since confirmed that several of the fires were deliberate, citing the use of accelerants and, in some areas, Israeli military-grade explosives.
Israeli Settlers Linked to Illegal Campfires
As investigations unfolded, incidents involving Israeli settlers came to light. In Los Glaciares National Park, a protected area known for its forests and natural resources, a local resident reportedly caught two Israeli settlers lighting a campfire in a strictly prohibited zone during peak summer. The resident confronted them, the fire was extinguished, and authorities were notified. The Israelis fled before they could be arrested.
Officials are reviewing photos, videos, and accommodation records, but no charges or convictions have been made so far.
I will think much less of the Mormons if they open a Patagonia colony in the near future.
End segue
Shirley’s rise to prominence hit a new milestone in October, when he was invited to participate in a White House roundtable about the “antifa” movement — the far-left ideology opposed to fascism, which Trump has designated a domestic terrorist organization.
No way they weren’t cooperating on the Somali agenda. Check the calendar:
Israel becomes first country to formally recognise Somaliland as independent state
h ttps://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-recognises-somaliland-somalias-breakway-region-independent-state-2025-12-26/
By Reuters, 27 December 2025
Shirley exposed Somali daycare fraud on 26 December, and Israel was the first nation to recognize a breakaway region of Somalia on… 26 December? What a Cohencidence.
Dec 26 (Reuters) - Israel became the first country to formally recognise the self-declared Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state on Friday - a decision that could reshape regional dynamics and test Somalia’s longstanding opposition to secession.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would seek immediate cooperation with Somaliland in agriculture, health, technology and the economy. In a statement, he congratulated Somaliland’s president, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, praised his leadership and invited him to visit Israel.
Netanyahu said the declaration “is in the spirit of the Abraham Accords, signed at the initiative of President Trump.”
The 2020 accords were brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump’s first administration and included Israel formalising diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, with other countries joining later.
Abdullahi said in a statement that Somaliland would join the Abraham Accords, calling it a step toward regional and global peace. He said Somaliland was committed to building partnerships, boosting mutual prosperity and promoting stability across the Middle East and Africa.
The main purpose of Abraham Accords being the political isolation of Palestine, one wonders if…
In March, Somalia and Somaliland denied receiving any proposal from the United States or Israel to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, with Mogadishu saying it categorically rejected any such move.
Somaliland has enjoyed effective autonomy - and relative peace and stability - since 1991 when Somalia descended into civil war, but the breakaway region has failed to receive recognition from any other country.
Doubtful. Egypt, Turkey, Djiboutai, Nigeria and the African Union have formally objected to the recognition. But I don’t understand Somalia’s political significance to the region, other than (apparently) funneling Uncle Sam’s money to al-Shabaab and friends.
Immigration issues is surely a part of the Minnesota protests, but the reason the protests there have been disproportionate to migration protests everywhere else, appears to be that the Greater Israel Project wants Somalia defunded.
