Ooh, never been this early to a GQ post before. Nice. Anyway...

Prior to reading Zippy's work on the ethics of war last year, I never would've even tolerated the idea that Israel was wrong for any kind of anti-Mohammedan activity they chose to engage in. But now that I really think about it... I feel really, really stupid for missing the giant red flag.

The logic: "Woodrow Wilson was an evil scumbag progressive!" -> "Evil scumbag progressives created the United Nations!" -> "United Nations is full of evil scumbag progressives who hate God and America!" -> "We can definitely trust that the evil God-hating scumbags were doing the right thing when they ((re))founded Israel."

???

I should put this in one of those Patrick's Wallet memes if I get the time.

For me, it was the Drug War. Leveraging the ease of prosecution for simple possession made sense as a way to combat the drug trade which clearly ruined innocent lives. Eventually, however, I noticed the "Drug War" got worse as the State tried ever harder to "get rid of it"... the State was the worst offender! Just like human trafficking and sex crimes.

Today, the Drug War has iterated to the nadir of government using taxpayer money to keep junkies alive long enough, via Narcan and homeless "services", to rob enough innocent people to buy another hit from the CIA. While Congress threatens Mexico with total war because either "fentanyl trafficking" or "refusing to be Uncle Sam's suicidal cats-paw against China", depending on who you ask.

I should've clued in sooner, too... but it's not like anybody tells us the truth.
