I intentionally didn't say much about the shooter because of some late-breaking concern that we were lied to about his identity. I do like the new perp's background better than the old perp's. People rarely jump directly from "quietly nonpolitical" to "Presidential assassin", and the new perp has a string of arrests typical of an Antifa goon. Being in the crime database also explains how the SS recruited him.
Whoever he was, he didn't lone-wolf and he missed, so he's ultimately irrelevant.
